2 Months....wait...almost 3!

This post is a little late. Serin is 11 weeks old now, but I just can't seem to do anything on time these days. I find myself constantly re-prioritizing throughout the day. I guess that's to be expected with 3 kids. At her 2 month appointment, she was 11lbs. 12 oz. and 24 inches long. So she's gained all that weight she lost in the beginning, and then some! She's somewhere in the 75th-80th percentile....and my smallest kid at this stage! She still has tons of hair! My kids have all been pretty identical in that way. We'll see what happens next. Baldness like baby Finn or fo-hawk like baby Selah? She's got blonde roots coming in though so...another toe-head? She is cooing all the time now and does these random big gasps of air all the time! (Granny Peg tells me its a Swedish thing.) She hates having a wet or poopy diaper. (ps. Shout out to Christi: Thank you for all those newborn cloth diapers!) Serin LOVES watching her older brother and sister. She seems to know their voices now and always looks around for them when they're near by. And they are so sweet to her. :-)

Serin is shaping up to be the typical 3rd child that I had heard so much about. She just goes with the flow. She sleeps a ton and is so far pretty mild-mannered. Her highs are not that high (no giggles yet. Just cracks a smile here and there) and her lows aren't that low (very little fussing). I thought I outta wait several weeks to make this next claim just in case it was a fluke.....but she sleeps through the night! She sort of always has! Pretty much since we came home from the hospital that first week, she started with some nice 5-6 hour stretches right away and then longer and longer and now it's like 8 or 9pm until 6 or 7am! I am way more rested than when I was pregnant! It seems to have nothing to do with our parenting. Selah didn't sleep through the night until 18 months old!  Needless to say, I am VERY grateful for this precious gift Serin has given me.  When mommy is rested, the world is a happier place for everyone!

 Here's our little sleeper.

So long preschool!

Finn has LOVED his little preschool! He has really come out of his shell there this year. Last year he like it too, but he was pretty quiet and didn't really choose to do most of the activities that were out for the kids. He loved just sitting down with a book and Ms. Anita and reading or talking to her. They had a cute little relationship in that way. She would just float around the room and spend time talking with kids, writing down the stories they told her. Finn just adored her. This year Finn made a lot more friends and seemed to be a little more social. He branched out to more activities too. It turns out he's a pretty good drawer! And I worked in the classroom once a week, so I got to see Finn in action. He was such a good listener and direction follower. At preschool he was allowed to be his silly self and tell the elaborate stories that are in his head. And since it is a play-based preschool, all the learning they did in there just seemed like play. I'm going to miss seeing Finn and all his little buddies in that room next year, as I continue to work once a week with SELAH in preschool! (what?) Yep! That's right! And Finn starts Kindergarten in less than 2 months! I hope these summer goes by slowly. I'm not ready for a big kid yet!

Finn and Xander became close this year because they share the same fondness of Star Wars!

Circle time! (Not really a circle after all.)

Ms. Anita told them to smile real big when they got on stage. Finn was the only kid there who really took that to heart.

Cousins!

Serin recently enjoyed a visit from her precious little Muira! Muira is a whopping 6 days older than Serin.  Lina and I had fun comparing notes on mothering our nearly 2 month old girls. As soon as she walked in the the door we swapped babies. You probably can't tell by looking at this first photo that we aren't holding our own. It was awesome to see Lina as a first-time mom. She's a total pro already. (she can chalk it up to lots of experience as "la Tia Lina").

The girls are pretty much exactly the same size and even move their bodies the same way. At a baby shower we were all at that weekend, I don't know how many times I heard Muira cry out and thought it was Serin.  They even sound a like.  I am so excited for these two girls to grow up together and be close....getting into all kinds of mischief together  (with Selah as their leader no doubt!)

This next series of photos deserve some titles I think:
